A gem in the mountains. Fernie has great skiing and after a days skiing a hot curry was the order of the day. Restaurant opens at five and it fills quickly during the holidays, so get there early if you dont want to wait. Its first come, first serve. Had lentil dip as a starter and Bombay curry. both were excellent and not too spicy. Will be dropping in next time I'm in town. You have too wait for the best things in life. Also ski the currie bowl which the restaurant is named after, has the best powder.

Top notch Cod and Chips,friendly owner and servers.
Dinner for two....4 pc (big) cod and chips plus a nice light dessert custard is 21.95!
Worth the drive.

...I had a good experience on my first visit. I live quite a ways away so I barely come down here. The people there are nice and even when I had to wait 15 mins for chicken (rush hour) "Elmer" gave me a complimentary drink and even added extra chicken for me.

I was at the North Van location, off Main. They served the wrong sandwich to another customer, 2-3 minutes later, brought it back to the kitchen, then try to give it to me. I told them, that guy openned it and touched it (I saw him). The girl in the kitchen pulled out a new bun and tired to give me the patty! When I complained to the manager, she just let them laugh in the kitchen!!! will never spend $$ at a Wendy's again!

My family's experience was the absolute worst there. We went to have their smorg and we all sat down after each getting a plate of food from the smorg and I pulled out a long curly black hair. The hair was all mixed into the food too now just on top. My family all had the chop suey which it came out of too so they didn't want to eat theirs too since it had came from the same place. We all didn't eat our food because who would want to eat something that had a long ugly hair in it yet they wanted us all to pay for it and the guy was so rude and was all like never come back and what not. First a hair in my meal. We joked I looked past it, then joked when I ordered my pie that It would be hair pie, sure enough. Hair in my chocolate pie. They didn't even comp the bill. The young server was much better than management. Never again.

The Best Healthy Fast Food Restaurant I've ever been to. They have Oven roasted, then Grilled, Chicken & Ribs. Plus salmon, Calmari, Shrimp. Several side dishes (rice, Oven roasted potato's, veggie dishes, and two salads. Soup each day. Wraps. For those who 'Really' want a hamburger and fries; they have it also. Kids Menu.
Daily Specials and Breakfast Menu. INexpensive.

Pappas Roaster at 400- Hwy 33 Rutland is the best 'fast food' place I've ever eaten at. Fresh,Oven roasted then Grilled chicken, Bbq Rib, Salmon, shrimp, calamari. Even a childrens menu. Plus a hamburger and fries for those who just can't be without. There are also two salads and four veggy side dishes, plus wraps. And now breakfast and it is great!! (8-11 a.m.) DAILY SPECIALS.. I've eaten in all of the other Pappas Roaster and I like this one the best. Eat in or take out. Inexpensive.

With all the glowing reviews I'm forced to give my honest opinion. After reading about their spaghetti and meatballs I had high expectations. Suffice it to say they fell far short of the mark. There is nothing special about their spaghetti, meatballs or sauce. Regular everyday pasta, large densely packed meatballs (little flavor), plain tomato sauce. I'm a great lover of spaghetti it can be great dish that is very flavorful and pleasing to the palate. This however was not. There is absolutely no veg in the sauce. Me and my friends had a great experience at Avalon, the service was very welcoming and you almost felt lime home when you walked in, and of coarse the food was delicious! The homemade tmt hot sauce and strawberry-rhubarb jam was excellent. But my favorite was the salmon lox eggs benedict with cottage potatoes mmmm...
