I absolutely loved Mars! It was the best sushi I have ever had by far. I had no idea that they had closed until I went to pick up an order I placed over the phone. The new place that took over is not even close to as good as Mars was in my opinion. Too bad... I would love to know if Mars is working somewhere else or has opened a new place somewhere else. If anyone knows please post :)

The food is great, typical of Vancouver Chinese food it lies somewhere between traditional and westernized Chinese cuisine, with some traditional options and some options that are closer to the deep fried and soaked in sauce that you get at "western" Chinese restaurants. Value is great and the food is good even for a late night fix. The service is relatively prompt but totally apathetic and barely speaks English (depending on your server)... but they're friendly enough and very tolerant. This place deserves to be a lot more busy than it actually is.

I would have to concur with "BOBBY" The bad review was a little over the top. I have lived in Langley all my life and while I wouldn't say I'm a regular at this restaurant, I have had the pleasure of dining there and ordering take-out on several occasions. I have never had a problem with it. Sure, I would like to see a reno and some updating but as far as the food is concerned, I give it 4 1\2 stars respectively

I have eaten there twice in the past month. The food was great. The first time I ate there I took some food home with me and they forgot to include the salad eventhough I specified I wanted it all wrapped up.
Last Tuesday was the second time eating there and yes the food was great and lots of it. I again had food wrapped up to go.
I got home and put the food in the fridge and found that the soup was missing. I phoned back to let them know that they had done this twice to me and the waitress told me that maybe I should look for another to place to dine in.
She is right. I will.

Just returned from 4 beautiful days in Parksville. The only negative was eating at Kalvas... my husband,two daughters (13 & 9), and myself. My husband and I wanted seafood. The food was way over priced, small portions, and poor quality cost us $120 (no dessert).I would NEVER recommend this restaurant to anyone. It's a 1 1/2 star establishment trying to be a 5 star. Give it up and stop ripping off the tourists!!!!!!!!!!

I went there with my daughter to have breakfast , when we walked in we were greated right away , and our food came within minutes , very very surprising because it was probaly not even 5 minutes. The hashbrowns were very greasy and tasted heated up again , the sausages were not good , bacon was not very cooked and the ham was bad , we both had a bite and tasted aweful , my daughter smelled it and almost got sick. When we told the waitress she was very rude to us after . She would come back to us again. Thats fine because we will never return back there. It was like our food was heated in a mic ...

What a pleasant surprise. A neighbor told us to try this place out with the kids. We had never gone before because it seemed like a rowdy pub style restaurant... guess what? They have a section for kids, and a great kids menu (the standard b.s. like chicken tenders, mac and cheese, whatever...). Best part is that they have 'normal' adult food, like nachos, chicken wings, burgers, and really good salads (believe it!). I give it a HUGE thumbs up for the Okanagan!

Wow...just got in from another great meal at Jolly’s. There are several GREAT things about this restaurant. First, the food is CLEAN: freshly prepared dishes made with very little oil. I just don't understand when restaurants use frozen veggies, especially in the summer when so many great veggies are available.... No fear. If it's not fresh, it's not on the menu here. Second, the Naan is nothing short of outstanding: it practically melts in your mouth and is delicately drizzled with fresh garlic. Sigh.... Worst Vietnamese restaurant I've been to in Canada! I'm not kidding you. We walked in and the lady was too busy to take our orders. Instead of taking our order she proceeds to clean the place. We just wanted to do takeout as the place was closing. We tasted the food and it was terrible.
The pad thai tasted like hot sauce on top of overcooked noodles and the Lemongrass chicken tasted like chicken boiled in water. We were very upset as they had apparently had won awards for being the best south asian cusine. We just threw the food away.
