Pleasant Suprise Overall Food Value Service Atmosphere Being from Vancouver I didn't expect much from Mars Bistro, as I have eaten at several other sushi places in Abbotsford. But I have to say that it was a nice experience. Everything that I had was extremely fresh, the price was reasonable, and it had nice enough atmostphere. I would certainly recommend Mars to a friend. Just ok and too expensive Overall Food Value Service Atmosphere I had high hopes for this place but unfortunately I was disappointed. The food was ok - some things were great and some were big missed. The price is unreasonable for what you get. Stick with the salmon and tuna sashimi - it's fresh. Stay away from the tuna gomaae (rip off!) and most of their rolls. They're just not good enough. Best by Far Overall Food Value Service Atmosphere I have eaten at just about every Japanese restaurant in Abbotsford. Mars surpasses all of them. The menu is extensive, the atmosphere is quaint and big band era music plays in the background. Mars will make to order and goes out of his way to ensure you have a great experience. Quality Not Quantity Overall Food Value Service Atmosphere I used to be a big fan of Sushi Te in Mission, but now when I'm craving Sushi I usually go to Mars. I really like this restuarant. But sometimes, depending on what you order, you don't get a very large quantity. But in my opinion the taste of the food is much more important than the amount. Superb Dining Overall Food Value Service Atmosphere Mars Japanese Bistro boasts a quality that is way out of Abbotsford's league. Unfortunately, everyone is yet to realise it, as the tables of this chic restuarant often sit empty. Offering authentic Japanese cuisine, Mars is on par with that of the higher end oriental restuarants of downtown Vancouver. The sushi is extremely fresh and is presented at a price that is more than reasonable. Hopefully, for their own sake, the sushi lovers of Abbotsford discover Mars before it is too late. Best Sushi in Abbotsford Overall Food Value Service Atmosphere Mars Japanese Bistro has the best sushi in Abbotsford, hands down. For a while I thought the prices were a little on the expensive side, but then recently I went to two different Sushi places that were lesser quality and had really cheap atmospheres.. and both places charged more than Mars. The atmosphere is also nice at Mars. The store front and the street may be a little deceiving, but really, Mars has a nice classy, relaxed feel on the inside. If you enjoy Japanese food I recommend that you see for your self that this place has amazing food. Good Quality Overall Food Value Service Atmosphere I'm not sure how to write this, so I'll leave it to whomever reviews it. Here's what I know about the restaurant: Mars is the owner and sushi chef. He was trained and worked in Japan for over a decade before coming to Canada. It is a small restaurant, with about thirty seats. Mars is the only sushi chef, and there is one cook. The price of food at Mars is higher than other Japanese restaurants in Abbotsford, but the difference isn't very large. The difference quality in makes it very popular among sushi connoisseurs. Prices are like: Normal roll (California, Negi-toro): $1.25 - $1.75 Special roll (Mar's roll, Alaska roll, quite large): $3.00 - $6.00 Sashimi: $2.00 - $7.00 per piece.
