Troller's Fish n Chips was born in 1994 when husband and wife Carole and Pete Seggie retired from commercial fishing to open their own restaurant. It floats in the harbour of downtown Nanaimo and has gained a loyal following since first opening. Excellent food, great people, wonderful atmosphere. What a unique experience!! The fish is truly as fresh as they claim and was worth every penny. The reviewer before myself may not be familiar with the smell of the harbour... but to me it adds to the whole experience. Such a great treat.

too expensive for cod and chips (2 pieces of cod nearly $16.00) - much more than I have paid on the Mainland! Also, the place smelled very unpleasant and needs a good cleaning!! Staff are pleasant and friendly - I am surprised, though, that it is so popular as it has such an unpleasant smell. The batter was good and the pieces of fish were of a generous size but the fish was mushy.
