Bistrot Bistro
About Bistrot Bistro
n conceiving the image for new Kitsilano hot spot Bistrot Bistro, owners Valerie and Laurent reached back to their childhood memories in France for inspiration, designing from them a warm and cheerful experience that re-defines French dining.
The ritual of shared meals is at the centre of French community life; setting aside a time of day to connect with family and friends over simple and elegant dishes is a time-honoured and lovingly nurtured heritage. Bistrot Bistro brings this charming concept to Vancouver and updates it with a bold and contemporary room design.
Unadorned wood tables, cozy banquette seating, slate flooring, and an open kitchen are all highlighted by a vibrant colour scheme. The communal table is a social centre that encourages the guests to mingle in the summer sun streaming in through the open garage doors that front the restaurant, or, at night, under the warm glow of the candle-filled walls.
The menu is drawn from the classic traditions of French country fare, where extended families would share comfort cuisine and fun around the table at a leisurely pace. The wine program focuses on food compatibility, diversity, and above all else, value. A state-of-the-art preservation system ensures that each and every wine featured on our list will be available to you by the glass, at any time.
Bistrot Bistro is a slice of the French country life right in the heart of Kitsilano, where you will be a stranger to us only once.

Barely okay French food. Room is ugly and cheap looking. Food mostly stew type food which has benefit of cheaper meats but nowhere near like La Regalade in West Van.

Having a resetvation for 7:30 and then having to wait until 7:50 to be seated is too long. We were disappointed as the food and service were OK but not great.

Very attentive and fantastic service is what you will find at Bistrot Bistro, but what I liked most about this quaint restaurant was the comfort and ease. To be able to hang out and enjoy classic French fare, without the traditional dose of ostentatiousness is what makes this place. I have gone back a few times and enjoyed myself always. A good alternative to Lumiere....
