About Fuel Restaurant Inc
Fuel Restaurant offers superb regional cuisine from Excutive Chef Robert Belcham and exceptional wines from Sommelier Tom Doughty, providing the highest level of quality in its cuisine and service, in an approachable and comfortable setting. Chef Robert Belcham's high-end regional fare utilizes cooking techniques from around the wold that are suited to each dish.
The menu changes often to be in sync with the seasons, showcasing expertly sourced ingredients from local farmers and purveyors. The exposed kitchen and chef's bar create a unique, intreractive dining experience - a virtual direct relationship between the chef's and the guests. As with most parties, guests usually gravitate to the kitchen. At Fuel, guests can enjoy the "kitchen party", or opt for the 45-seat dining room for a more intimate experience.
At Fuel Restaurant, wine is a key component of the dining experience. Sommelier Tom Daughty has assembled a collection of special vintages and producers for the diners enjoyment. The wines are chosen specifically to complement the menu.
By providing expert service and incredible food in a comfortable and friendly ambience, those diners who venture forth to Furl Restaurant will find this fine dining experience to be an exciting addition to the Kitsilano neighbourhood and to the Vancouver dining scene.

Expensive, overwrought food in a windowless room

If you come to Fuel, kitchenside is best as the kitchen is in the front of the house. But, if you want table dining, you're relegated to the weirdly lit backroom. Food is expensive for what you get. It is okay but is it memorable? Is there a Fuel style? Not.

Wow...I do not know where to start...
My husband & I have had the most wonderful meals, on several occations.
We keep going back to try all the new items on the menu..there are just so many, great dishes, it is really hard to choose.....
We have sat at both, a nice quiet table in the back ( very romantic ) as well as the bar area where you have your dinner prepared right in front of you...this is truly the best seat in the house...Dinner & a Show
The room decor is pleasing to the eye...very simple, so it allows you to enjoy the presentation of the outstanding food & service all found to be top notch. If you want to be pampered you must give Fuel a try...Save room for desert. You will love it.

Fuel is OK, just OK. Some BIG negatives will keep me from recommending/going back.
I keep trying the new restaurants in Kits and I'm getting very tired of the restaurant look Vancouver is going for. Food too. How can so many different people open the same restaurant? Minimal decor, boring hipster music, decent food but not any different really from West, Lumiere, C or the wannabees.
A restaurant like a K-Kar.
There's not even any paintings or art to look at? My waitress was uninterested, and the fruit had fallen from my wine ( therefore overpriced, old and tasting flat). For $15 a Glass? I sat at the bar and it seemed (though Im not sure) like the cooks were making jokes about me?! Maybe Im just cranky or paranoid... but I just don't get the hype. Mediocre at best, and decorated by critics? What an odd city.

I've been here on multiple occasions over the last six months. Every time I am here, I have to say that the food has been absolutely fabulous and perfect. The most memorable of all was the lamb... and that is saying a lot because I am not normally a lamb fan!
The room is simply decorated which suggests the focus on quality food. The kitchen is fully open and you can watch the masters at work...
I will of course continue frequenting FUEL, but what is more interesting is that almost everyone I take here also wants to go back.
